A Game Against Hayward’s Heath at Heathfield?
Some good match practise in a mix and match game.
The under 13s played in a mixed team with Heathfield versus Hayward’s Heath at Heathfield. This was a game arranged as a joint training session and game because Heathfield pulled out of the waterfall league due to lack of numbers in their development side, therefore we joined forces with Heathfield to play a Hayward’s Heath side which included two of our players!
The two sides were equally matched and it was only the really strong running of HH’s centre, who was exceptionally quick, that was the difference in the sides.
All the players got stuck in and carried on the good work from the game against Hove. Joseph was sharp at fly half and getting some good clean ball from Alex at scrum half. Our three u12’s thankfully managed to get here despite the bridge at Newhaven. Lucas was fearless from the kickoff always at the heart of things, Bradley made some good tackles on the wing and Theo had some barnstorming runs. The scrum noticeably got better when Theo came into prop!
Evan and Laurie put in some hard work in the pack and James nearly had a nice run on the wing until he was flattened! Well done to Robbie and Orin who won! They both had good games for HH and enjoyed being on the winning side for a change!
Well done to all the parents for getting there thanks to Mat for his coaching and to Heathfield for arranging the morning and for the food after.
