A bruising encounter for the first U16 match, as the boys faced Lewes FC.
Nevertheless, the team did themselves proud with their hard work and commitment, especially in the first quarter, with the Seaford pack well on top and securing rucks and winning turn-over ball. 
With the wind against us it was hard to gain territory, and some quick tap-and-go penalties from Lewes, caught Seaford on the back foot.
In the second half as match fitness and experience began to tell, the game fragmented and Lewes took advantage in the loose.
A 40 yard break from Suhayb Ali down the left wing, left five Lewes defenders for dead, with an unfortunate ankle injury in the last ditch tap tackle saw Seaford down to 14 players.
Good pressure and a late barrelling run down the right wing from lock Harry Highway came up just short of the line, and but for Lewes giving away the penalty in the ruck Seaford would have seen a deserved try from the oncoming support.
Seaford man of the match was full-back Joseph Garman for his kicking and bringing Seaford through the gain line. Forward of the match was number 8 Cosmo Martin who was a titan in attack and defence.
With ? players making their 15's rugby debut - Samuel Taylor, Alexander Grimes, Raphael Mallinson... This was a steep learning curve. But learn we will, and onward we drive. P.S This was written by Andy so well I left it alone
