When the senior men's team were asked if they would help celebrate Bognor RFC's 50th year, They jumped at the chance to relive the first game Bognor ever played as an RFU club.
With kick off not until 3:30pm, there was only one way to travel to the game and that was on a fun bus! So at 11am 40 of us pilled onto a coach and headed off too Bognor in high spirts and full of self confidence. Then the coach didn't start!! So after an anxous wait we boarded the replacement coach and we were off to Bognor.
The atmosphere was of a true party feeling, then it was match time. The players and supporters from both side respected a minutes silence for the people who were lost and injured in the events at Shoreham a week earlier.
Seaford came out of the blocks looking fit and confident, all through it was a hard fought game Seaford held there own with some strong attacking from Bognor and with the help of the touchline Bognor scored. Not to be disturbed by this Seaford found their shape and started to work through the seven weeks of pre-season training and try's began to come.
The final score is a little cloudy, with seven try's being scored and three being confirmed as converted.
Bognor 15 - 42 Seaford
Corey Digby-Clarke x 2
Mike Crowley x 2
