Seaford 1’s travelled to Shoreham to play the quarter finals of the Sussex Vase. Shoreham came out of the stalls quickly and made the opening score through an intercepted pass, converting, the try to take a seven nil lead. Seaford fought back and the club captain Paul Burns went over from a well worked move, Seafords solid scrum worked well and Hooker Steve Dann stole an all familiar ball against the head in the Shoreham half, this was spun out to Paul Burns who worked well with his brother to use a "sissors" move to split the defence, the Skipper then followed Chris Burns to take an off load, he then used his strength and footwork to bring the score line to 7-5.

Seaford then took the Lead after Ben Cox went over to score a try after breaking through the defence from a line out on the Shoreham 22. The successful conversion from Simon Baker saw Seaford take the lead 12- 7. Shoreham fought back to level the scores at half time with a dubious try where a blatant knock on in Seafords own 22 went unnoticed in the build up .

The second half saw both teams go near before substitute Josh Sheppard powered over the line to put Seaford into the lead, a poor Shoreham clearance from behind their own try line went to the arms of Sheppard, with his first touch of the ball he stepped the defender in front of him and went through the last to score what would be the final try of the game. Ben Cox converting the kick to give Seaford a 19-12 the final score and victory in what turned out to be a stop start game in which neither team really got into any sort of rhythm.

Seaford wait to see who they face in the Semi-finals for what looks to be another great and eventful encounter.
