When the action began the initial signs were promising for the Scarlets; as the ball came out from a ruck and traveled up the pitch swiftly, thanks to some fine line running from the back line.
Seaford paid the price for a fruitless 10 minutes of pressure, when their opponents scored with their first attack. A line-out, the result of a needless penalty set up a fast attack from Heath. After a few attempts at the line, the Heath outside center powered through his opposite number to score.
The next points were scored against the run of play, as Haywards Heath began to take control of the game. A free flowing Heath were cut down, when a quick turnover resulted in Seaford outflanking their hosts. Chris Burns redeemed his earlier poor tackling by finishing the move off and placing the ball down in the corner, to level the match.
Just before the break the home side scored once more, following a clever chip over from their outside half, finding a Heath winger who confidently placed the ball down. Heath went in 12 to 5 up.
The second half was much the same as the first, with Seaford failing to retain possession and gifting the ball to their opponents. Heath took advantage of the Scarlets poorly formed defensive line, running through for their third try.
As Seaford possession lacked any real structure it was left to Paul Burns to find holes in the Heath defense, which he did on the 60th minute, scoring between the posts. Cox added the conversion and Seaford were still in the game.
It wasn’t to be for Seaford, as Heath shut the door on their guests, with two soft tries. Paul Burns managed to add one more try and Cox ended the scoring.
