The late summer sun shone on The Salts, as the 2nd XV fought hard to get their 1st win of the season.

Seaford 2nd XV first home game of the season, was to host old derby rivals Hellingly 2 at The Salts. The game kicked off at a good pace with both sides making ground but defending equally as the other. After 10 min it was clear to see to the growing amount of supporters that had gathered, that today was going to be a typical tough derby game, with no quarter given.

And so that was how that game turned out. With a long break in the first half for an serious shoulder injury to Seaford scrum-half Kane Tudor. the game was fast and frenetic from both sides. Hellingly were leading through most of the match with Seaford battling and not giving up. they were eventually rewarded with a converted try five minutes from the end of the game, to win the match 10-8.

Seaford captain Ollie Machan praised the determination and sprit of the Hellingly team. But, was also keen to remind his players that it is going to be a long season and they need to keep this intensity up throughout the season.

Both teams are at home in league action this week:
